How a product design and development studio works

27 August 20263 min

Aura is the product design and development studio of Cosmolabs OÜ. It combines software development, product design, quality assurance and consulting in four phases: discover, design, build and launch. Branding and web projects are delivered in six to twelve weeks; products, in eight-week phases with fixed pricing.

What Aura is and who it works for

Aura is the product design and development studio of Cosmolabs OÜ, a company registered in Tallinn (Estonia) with registration code 17106582. We work with founders, product teams and marketing departments that need to launch something real: a coherent brand identity, a website that accurately explains what they do, or a digital product that their customers can use without anyone having to teach them how. Our clients are usually tech startups in the growth phase, professional services companies and organizations carrying a legacy identity that no longer represents what they do.

We do not work by volume. We accept a limited number of projects per year so we can be involved in each one with the depth required to understand a business before drawing it. That means the first phase of any collaboration is not visual: it is an honest investigation into the market, the audience and the team's real constraints.

The four services we offer

Our work is organized into four areas that are almost always combined within the same project. Software development covers web and mobile products built to scale, with clean, accessible and reviewed code. Product design covers user research, information architecture, design systems and interfaces that feel natural. Quality assurance adds a layer of rigorous testing before each release, so that going to production is a checklist and not a leap of faith. Strategic consulting serves teams that do not yet know what they should build and need to bring order before investing.

How the process works, phase by phase

  • Discover: we map the audience, market and technical limits, and agree in writing on what winning means before moving a pixel.
  • Design: we decide on systems before screens. Typography, color, grid and movement are resolved once and applied with intention throughout the product.
  • Build: engineering that respects the design, with performance and accessibility as requirements and not as optional extras.
  • Launch: testing, measurement and support after publication, because the interesting work begins when the first real users arrive.

The week-by-week detail is in our methodology.

Timelines, budget and how to collaborate

Most branding and web projects are delivered between six and twelve weeks. Full digital products advance in eight-week phases, each with a scope and a fixed price agreed upon before starting, with no surprise hours or bills that grow halfway through. We integrate with internal product and development teams, deliver documented systems and accompany the transition so the team can continue on their own.

To start, we only need a thirty-minute conversation, access to what already exists and a clear idea of what success means to you. You can write to us at hola@auradesign.tech or use the form on the contact page.
